The Case:
The Seiko 5 Sports SRPD65K4 is part of the Seiko 5 Sports collection. It features a stainless steel case that measures 42.5mm in width. It is presented in a gunmetal grey hue and it has been treated with a brushed finish. The case features a unidirectional rotating bezel made from aluminium; it exhibits a 60-minute scale and it has coined edges that allow for it to be easily rotated. A recessed screw-down crown is located next to the 4 o’clock position on the side of the dial, this allows the watch to sit comfortably as it prevents the crown from digging into the wrist. On the back of the watch there is a see-through caseback which provides the wearer an insight into the mechanisms that power the watch. Both the front and back of the watch are protected by hardlex crystal glass.
The Dial:
The watch features a matte black dial that exhibits an uncomplicated layout that ensures that it always remains easily readable. It features silver-framed hour markers and a bold handset that consists of an arrow-style hour marker and a syringe-style minute hand. Both the hour markers and the handset have been filled with LumiBrite material, which allows the dial to be read in the dark. A 60-minute scale is located on the chapter ring, whilst a day-date display replaces the 3 o’clock marker. The Seiko 5 Sports logo is presented in white beneath the 12 o’clock marker.
The Strap:
This timepiece comes equipped with a military green fabric NATO style strap. The strap fastens through the use of a standard metal Seiko-signed buckle that secures the watch around the wrist.
The Functions:
Seiko’s exclusive 4R36 automatic movement powers this timepiece. It is a self-winding movement with manual-winding capacity and hacking-seconds features. This movement has a 41 hour power, it consists of 23 jewels and it beats at 21,600vph. This watch has a water resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for snorkelling.
