Seiko Prospex Deep Lake Alpinist Automatic Blue Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet Men's Watch SPB249J1
Seiko Prospex Alpinist ‘Deep Lake’ Blue Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet Men’s Watch SPB249J1
Seiko Alpinist Deep Lake SPB249J1 Prospex Alpinist Blue Dial takes its design cues from the original ‘Alpinist,’ first launched in 1959 exclusively in the Japanese market for Japanese ‘Yama-otoko’ mountain men, to be reliable in treacherous terrain.
Its colour is inspired by those peaceful alpine lakes, found deep in the mountains.
Designed for practicality, this latest version is powered by the Automatic 6R movement with highly visible lumibrite on the dial and hands – easy to see in any light – and 200m water resistance.
Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ These timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable within extreme or everyday environments, for experts, sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
The Case:
Seiko Alpinist Deep Lake SPB249J1 Prospex Alpinist Blue Dial features a stainless steel case that measures 40.8mm in diameter and 12.9mm in height. The case has been treated to a brushed finish, which provides the watch with a refined lustre. It is equipped with a fixed bezel that has been treated to a polished finish. It also features a screw-down crown at 3 o’clock and domed sapphire crystal bestowing the watch with a vintage feel. Sapphire crystal glass is also used for the case’s see-through screw down case back.
The Dial:
The blue dial features a texture design and beautifully applied markers that are filled with a luminescent material, which enables the dial to be read in the dark. The dial also features elegant silver dauphine style hands, and a date-display window with a silver frame is present that is located at the 3 o’clock marker. The second hand is presented in a striking orange tone, with an elongated arrow tip. The Seiko logo is presented in silver beneath the 12 o’clock marker.
The Bracelet:
This timepiece is worn on a classic 3-link stainless steel bracelet which has been treated to a brushed finish. The bracelet fastens through the use of a three-fold deployment clasp with push button release.
The Functions:
Seiko’s 6R35 automatic caliber movement powers this timepiece, it offers a power reserve of 70 hours and an accuracy of -15/+25 seconds per day. It is water resistant to 200 meters, which means it can be worn when snorkelling.
