Seiko Prospex Save The Ocean 'Manta' 'King Samurai' Automatic Blue Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet Mens Watch SRPE33K1

The Case:

Crafted from stainless steel and measuring in at 44mm, the case of this Seiko Prospex 'Manta' 'King Samurai' SRPE33K1 looks and feels robust. The tapered sharp edges of the case earn this timepiece its ‘Samurai’ nickname. The brushed finish on the steel provides this model with a more quintessential tool watch feel. The compact design allows it to sit comfortably on the wrist, as the lugs and the end-link of the bracelet meet just at the edge of the bezel. An oversized screw down crown is also present besides the 3 o’clock mark, it is protected by a crown guard, which bolsters the functionality of this model.

A bold black uni-directional rotating bezel sits on top of the case, a 60-minute track meanders around of it, while a lume pip is present at the 12 o’clock mark. It is made from ceramic, a material that is favoured by luxury watch brands due to its durability and longevity. The bezel will retain its eye-catching glossy finish, as it is scratch resistant and fade resistant qualities, which is therefore why Rolex began to use ceramic bezel inserts as opposed to aluminium. A stainless steel screw down case back has been specially engraved. Sapphire crystal glass has been chosen for its scratch resistant qualities, it is second only to diamond in its hardness.

The Dial:

The deep blue colour of the dial is reminiscent of the ocean, there are three mantra rays present on the dial. Around the edge of the dial are silver oversized indices to allow for greater legibility. Likewise, each of the luminescent indexes are applied and slightly raised, which gives the dial a subtle depth. The contrast between the arrow style hour hand and sword style minute hand make makes confusion impossible. The Seiko logo sits beneath the 12 o’clock mark, whilst a date window is replaces the 3 o’clock mark. The date window

The Bracelet:

The silver bracelet of the watch is made from highly durable stainless steel, that has been finished using a brushing technique. It comes in the style of an oyster bracelet, which is associated with the Rolex brand. It fastens using a three fold clasp with a secure lock.

The Functions:

Seiko’s exclusive 4R35 automatic movement powers this timepiece. It is a self-winding calibre with manual-winding capacity and a hacking-seconds features.
