The Case:
The Sekonda 1779 is a robust timepiece that is simple, yet effective. The circular case is made from ion-plated stainless steel that has been treated to a polished finish. It is topped with a blue bezel that displays a 60-minute scale, which is separated into increments of 10 minutes. A push/pull crown that is positioned beside the 3 o’clock marker. Mineral crystal glass is used which provides the watch with superlative levels of protection from scratches and shattering.
The Dial:
The sunbrushed blue dial exhibits three subdials that display the day, date and 24-hour scale.
Around the edge of the dial there are baton-style hour markers and a 60-minute track that is presented on the chapter ring. A bold baton style handset has a luminescent filling which ensures that the dial can be read in the dark. The Sekonda logo is presented in white underneath the 12 o’clock marker.
The Bracelet:
The watch continues to adhere to the aesthetics of a classic dive watch as it utilises a stainless steel 3-link oyster style bracelet. It has been treated to a combination of brushed and polished finishes. It fastens through the use of a deployment clasp.
The Functions:
Japanese made quartz mechanisms power this timepiece, ensuring that it remains reliable and accurate. It has a water resistance rating of 50 metres, which means it can be worn when swimming in shallow waters.
