This American designer had worked for General Motors, Century Boats and Harry Winston, and had a way of creating designs that seemed to embody the rapid technological breakthroughs that the world had seen after WWII. This was certainly true of the Ventura. It measures at 32mm in width and 50mm in length and the highly polished finish of the steel sublimates the case's appearance. Additionally, a crown besides the 3 o'clock, it has been knurled which allows for easy hand winding. It also features the 'H' logo embossed on to it.

Hamilton earned a place in history, as they found themselves suppliers of watches to the US military in both world wars. The US Naval Lab invited the Hamilton Watch Company to create an American made chrono. There was a shortage of chronos available to the US Government during the First World War. Therefore they had to rely solely on European made pieces. For this reason Hamilton agreed in 1941 to undertake the work. Moreover, by 1944 Hamilton had produced more than 10,000 Chronometers in aid of the American War effort.
Hamilton have developed a close relationship over the years with Hollywood. They have featured in over 450 films, starting in 1951 with the Frogman watch. Other films include: Elvis Presley's in 1961’s 'Blue Hawaii' and in '2001: A Space Odyssey'. Hamilton have featured in films such as 'Interstellar' and 'The Martian'.
In 2003 Hamilton moved their headquarters to Switzerland. They are still a global force within the watch industry. This is because they offer a combination of American heritage, Swiss workings and a touch of Hollywood flair.
